Historical Gölyazı Town Revived with Filli Boya Colors…
Gölyazı Town in Lake Ulubat in Bursa, which is connected to the mainland with a bridge, becomes an island in the winter and a peninsula in the summer, carries the traces of A.D. 7th century Ancient Greece civilization with a history of 3500 years was renewed through the "Local Transformation Project" in 2005 under the sponsorship of Filli Boya.
Within the project, through which it is aimed to transform Gölyazı Town to an international outdoor art park, Filli Boya worked together with visual artist Gül Ilgaz, Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) and Gölyazı Municipality and gave it a new appearance.
Within the scope of the project which was put into practice with the support of Filli Boya, more than 200 buildings located in an area of 15,000 square-meters were painted with Filli Boya paints in artistic harmony in 2005.
During the works carried out in July and August of 2005, the exterior surfaces of the places in town were renewed with paints and equipment supplied by Filli Boya for the project. Natural colors like red and green were chosen for the task and an artistic harmony was achieved.
Paint works of the activity where Gölyazı was transformed to an international outdoor art park and gained a new identity with its new appearance were carried out by TOG members and foreign students coming from abroad.
Within the "Gölyazı Local Transformation Project", which is a first in Turkey on its subject,
protection of town houses and buildings in the town square was achieved without disturbing the natural structure of the town thanks to the works carried out in cooperation with town residents.
Transformed to a center of attraction through the "Gölyazı Local Transformation Project" executed with the support of Filli Boya, Gölyazı town was included to the Turkish tourism industry as a brand-new and unique area.
