Creating a Mood with Color - Purple
As it is achieved with a mixture of red and blue, it has the properties of both colors. Clearness, lucidness, instinctive superiority and naive passiveness are the properties it takes from blue, while attractiveness and eroticism are the ones coming from red. It does not like contention or violence. It is kind, polite and beautiful. It is used to evoke silence in some cases and situations with pain and misery. It has calming and relaxing aspects as well as evoking mourning and grief. It also brings positive effects to mental states, such as meditation.
It is also known as the color which recalls magic and sorcery. Therefore, the color generally preferred by preadolescent kids is purple.
Use of Purple in Indoor Areas
Since it is a spacious, calm, intense and kind color in general terms, it can be used in almost every area. It is particularly suitable for bedrooms and working rooms. However, if it will be used in highly dynamic and/or highly calm places, it should definitely be complemented with yellow and therefore its direct effects should be moderated.
